Call for an updated inventory list. We provide photos, length, width, circumference, stem height and product weight. Measuring the burls and stems is not an exact process because there are no square edges. The length, width and circumference of the burl and length of the stems as well as the distance between the stems cannot be taken as precise. They are to assist in the design process and for ordering purposes. Some burls have rocks of varied sizes embedded in the base. We leave them present as they add character.

How do we find such interesting raw materials?

Burls or gnarly, distressed limbs are generally chipped or discarded by tree surgeons. We relish them. Nurserymen ordinarily cut native rhododendrons and laurels to the ground and burn the old-growth stalks. We salvage them.
